I have never heard of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, and am not curious enough to google to find out who she was. But I did stumble on a site selling the Saint’s stuff, in the form of calendars, medals, statues, coloring books, blue and white buttons and fridge magnets. The last three go for just $1, but it’s $42.50 for the small statue. This info has to be added to what I said about “Precious Medals” (pp. 166-168) in the chapter “Superstitions and Fetishes”.
Somebody must believe in this nonsense, and someone is making a buck out of it. I myself might help make ends meet by getting a medal made from the photo of just-ordained Father Leon in 1961 (p;37). Proceeds will be employed for the purchase of a bullet-proof chasuble.
